A Comprehensive Guide to Neil Cicierega's Discography -
To complement the release of my new video I’m also “officially” releasing this document, “A Comprehensive Guide to Neil Cicierega’s Discography”!
As the name implies, this is a comprehensive catalog of every single musical piece Neil has ever released to the public, listing where it can be found, which have vocals and which are instrumentals, a few interesting factoids or background/history for certain tracks, a link (where applicable) to where you can find every single one of these tracks, and all done with a neat user-friendly color-coded set of sheets.
The purpose of this document is to make Neil’s musical library more comprehensible. I first discovered his music through the Lemon Demon Bandcamp, and over time I’ve grown super attached to his unique style of composing/songwriting and likewise wanted to search for more. The deeper I looked into it though the more I found the crazy huge amount of tracks he’s made over his time on the internet, from today all the way back to even 1997, and there’s no single place you can find every single one of them- Despite the fact that some of his super obscure tracks can be just just as fantastic if not more than his main album releases.
So, I’ve made an effort to make this document as comprehensive as possible. Over the past two decades Neil has been actively posting new content the whole time, including even before YouTube where the internet was essentially the wild west. I’ve dived deep into the most obscure corners of the internet to find every single track I could possibly find, I’ve gotten assistance from several people who were around when the now-defunct Lemon Demon forums were up, and this document is now at a point where I can almost completely confidently say that this document now has every single track Neil has ever released on it.
…Obviously I can’t say that with complete certainty, but I challenge anybody interested to look for tracks I haven’t included in this document and to message me either here or on my twitter (I’m more likely to see messages there because I’m more active there), if you find anything I haven’t included, I’ll put it in the document.
I’ll quickly explain the layout of the document to make using it easier, as on the first open it might be a bit overwhelming:
Including every single track in the document excepting everything in the “Alternate Song Versions” sheet, there are over 650+ entries in this document, and including Alternate Song Versions there are just over 800+(!!) entries. The amount of music this one man has produced is staggering, and I really hope this document helps even just a few of you get into somebody whom has become my absolute favourite composer/songwriter, or at least to help those who are already fans navigate his library a bit easier. If you are willing to give his work a shot though, I recommend his most recent Lemon Demon album, “Spirit Phone”.
One final purpose of this document is to potentially be a useful resource for @neilcicierega himself. I don’t know how he organises his library but if he chooses to give this document a look, I hope that it might somehow help him manage his extensive musical catalog.
Thanks for reading and I hope you listen to some rad music today!
